Ricky Tran, BBA, CYT, CBA

Picture
Ricky Tran, BBA, CYT, RYT, CBA, has a remarkable cross-cultural life story of survival, reinvention, and the transformational power of yoga. The young yoga master went from a path of addiction and self-destruction to a path of self-realization in a few short years under the guidance of real yoga masters. Ricky earned a BBA in entrepreneurship, management, and real estate from the University of North Texas in 2002 and has lead yoga workshops, teacher trainings, and retreats throughout the United States. He founded the Breakfast Yoga Club in in 2010 and the Krama Yoga Center in Dallas in 2011.

My wife and I have been practicing yoga for about 12 years. We have been fairly consistent in our practice and have seen improvement through our dedication. We have attended numerous workshops with well known yoga instructors and have enjoyed and learned from them. However, after attending a 3-day workshop with Ricky in Houston, we will have to say that we have never experienced anyone who has motivated us as much to attain a higher level in our yogic journey. Ricky's non-intimidating style and knowledge would benefit anyone interested in exploring the benefits of yoga, whether they are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced student.

Carter Twitty

Picture
Carter first took a Yoga class in his sophomore year in college because a friend of his didn't want to go by himself.  The friend didn't last long; but, for Carter, this single act set him upon the path that has led him to this very moment.  Carter continued his Yoga practice through graduation from Southern Methodist University in 2007 and began work as a junior associate in a risk management and insurance group.  Following his heart, Carter left in the summer of 2008 to attended Dharma Mittra's Life of a Yogi 200 hour teacher training at the master's studio in New York, NY.  Here his love of teaching truly took form as he immersed himself in the science, discipline and protocol of true Yoga with a realized Yoga Master.

Carter's Vinyasa classes are firmly set in the traditions of his teacher, Sri Dharma, while incorporating the wonderful discoveries his fellow teachers and students inspire him with everyday.  The classes are invigorating and challenging for all levels of practice with their focus on breathing through movement, body alignment, and mental purification that provide his students a refreshing way to incorporate the centuries old traditions of Yoga into their modern lives.

Blair Lewis, P.A.

For over 40 years Blair has been a student of the living tradition of the Himalayan sages.  He began his formal study of yoga science as a student of Swami Rama, the founder of the Himalayan Institute.  His advanced studies in Tantra, Ayurveda and the Yogic sciences continue under the guidance of Pandit Tigunait, PhD., the Spiritual Head of the Himalayan Institute.  Pandit Tigunait initiated Blair as a Pandit in the Himalayan tradition in 1998.

Blair founded the Alive and Healthy Institute (2002) and co-founded the Blue Sky Educational Foundation of Wisconsin (1985) -- two non-profit organizations that provide education in holistic health and the yogic sciences. Blair travels frequently to India and Africa to teach and to advance his own studies in Ayurveda, tantra and yoga science.  An author of five books, his latest books are: The Happiness Revolution (Spring 2007) and Happiness: The Real Medicine and How It Works (Spring 2005).

An adept teacher, yogi, speaker and humanitarian, Blair received his formal physician assistant medical training at the Cleveland Clinic, National Center for Homeopathy and osteopathic training at Michigan State University.  Spiritual counseling with Blair is available in person or via telephone and online media through AliveandHealthy.com.

Jenny Parum

Picture
Jenny’s approach to yoga has been with the attitude of “Learn from everyone, but your practice is your own.”  Her personal practice has been influenced by leaders in a variety of disciplines.  With focus on efficiency through alignment, awareness and breath, Jenny has made a remarkable recovery from the crippling effects of rheumatoid arthritis.  It’s Jenny’s experience of renewed body, mind and spirit that compels her to share.

"When I learned, at age 20, that the pain I was experiencing was Rheumatoid Arthritis, I set out on a journey to wellness.  I wasn't willing to risk the side effects of medications, so I learned to manage my health through nutrition.  Though I was able to manage the disease enough to stay mobile, I had lost most of the strength and range of motion I once had.  Now that I have yoga, I am experiencing amazing healing and renewed strength!  I'm honored to be able to share this ancient practice with anyone who is looking for a better way to care for their body inside and out."

I am eternally grateful for opportunities and time with pivotal teachers like Ricky Tran, Bryan Kest, Rod Stryker, Kumar Pallana, Pradeep Teotia, and David Williams.

I began practicing Yoga in 2002 and continue to be inspired to learn more about myself, others, and the world we live in.  Following college, I had a successful career developing software in the corporate world, yet still, I was unfulfilled...torn between continuing along the path I had been educated and conditioned to take and following my heart.  After years of soul searching and being painfully honest with myself, I committed to follow a path that was true to my heart, no matter how scary the change might be.  In, 2010, I started teaching Yoga and finally I feel like I'm exactly where Im supposed to be.   I hope to provide a fun, loving, and compassionate environment that will nurture the growth of your practice.  I sincerely look forward to sharing in your journey. Namaste'
